
Outstanding in the Field
We’ve got outstanding news, and couldn’t be more excited! Our farm was chosen to take part in an once-in-a-lifetime event. The acclaimed Outstanding in the Field is heading out to Capay early this summer and will be hosting a dinner on our farm, Sunday, June 24th!
Outstanding in the Field’s mission is to "re-connect diners to the land and the origins of their food, and to honor the local farmers and food artisans who cultivate it." Leah Scafe, director of Outstanding in the Field comments. "We are looking forward to coming to the Capay Valley for the very first time and creating an unforgettable dining experience."
Guests are seated at a long table for a meal composed by the guest chef in Outstanding in the Field’s nomadic al fresco kitchen. Thaddeus, Noah and Freeman will give a tour of the farm and tell a little about our story and philosophy. During the meal, the host farmers and guest chef talk about their respective crafts and diners are encouraged to ask questions.
From the moment we heard about the kind of event Outstanding in the Field creates, we hoped to get chosen for one of their spectacular dinners. It is truly a once in a lifetime dining experience. The Capay Valley hills and our farm in summer will be the perfect backdrop for an amazing feast with Outstanding in the Field and Chef Oliver Ridgeway of Grange collaborating on a dining event that we won’t soon forget. We are honored to be a part of this pairing.
